TOP-5 FEBRUARY 07-2010

TOP-5 FEBRUARY 07-2010

Directly from Guria’s hideout :

Not even a year into blogging, and a few months into religiously reading other blogs, I realise blogging is not only about writing yourself but about discovering a whole new world of amateur literature and impromptu bits of journalistic opinions. My first foray into INDImag is not about my own writing skills but rather my appreciation of the Bloggers and their World, who have taken the experience of Blogging into a different strata altogether. Today I’m the mere Reader and Editor in Madhu Rao’s brilliant pet project of choosing the Top-5 Best Posts. Bringing together Madhu Rao’s and Guria’s not-so-meagre combination of brains and their similar joy in reading, Guria’s Top-5 Posts  brings the best of the last week, every Sunday and sometimes to complete the list, a post from the past further than that.

Everyone who shares our joy in reading as well as writing, kindly pitch in too! Not only we appreciate the opinions and choices of another blogger-who-reads, it helps all of us to unearth the new writers, writers who deserve to be read. Do use our ‘CONTACT US‘ and tell us what we are missing, give us a Must-Read-and-Hence-Should-Feature!

Here goes the Top-5 of this week.. Enjoy!

  1. The Last Temptation – Samadrita : An eloquently told story about a reforming addict. The thought behind and the inspiration it elicits, made the story one of a kind. A story that talks about hope and re-birth of a mind, it really re-discovers the ties in our lives. It’s simplicity and beautiful thought makes it one of the Top 5 posts of the week.
  2. A Footprint of Service – ARJuna : A blogger and a thinker,  this post of ARJuna’s questions. The simple yet expressive thoughts of his mind, his questions and his views along with the passion with which he talks about what he believes in, what he wishes for, made his post an easy choice for our Top 5.
  3. Lost In The woods – Tanmaya : A poetry with the depth of the dark woods, it just doesn’t rhyme but travels down a difficult path of soul-searching.  Tanmaya’s mesmerizing portrayal of  ’a lonely little girl’  and her deep understanding makes this piece a must-read.
  4. Seeing the light……. – Ugich Konitari : Another piece of poetry,  as different as they come but with the same attribute of ensnaring the mind completely, in a profound way. Another girl sits by the window as she thinks her life over, this piece brings hope with it. Amazing justice done to the photograph, Ugich Konitari easily makes her way into our Top 5.
  5. A Letter From My Father – Manorama Ukidve :  Published on INDImag , this is a letter sent from a father to his children as he talks about his mother, and honors her. The letter ends only after it moves you completely and makes you reach out more than you would in your busy life with forgotten ties. This letter, we believe is another must-read, definitely.
